I had my follow up with my Dr today who is concerned this is too low and could mean a miscarriage. Has anyone else had a low heart rate and gone on to have a healthy Bub? I have another ultrasound at 8 weeks (next Saturday) in the hope to see an increase in heart rate and better news. I have another ultrasound at 8 weeks (next Saturday) in the hope to see an increase in heart rate and better news. If it makes you feel better the same thing happened to me! Goodluck and take care of yourself while you wait until tomorrows scan xxx I had my dating scan last Saturday when I thought I was 9 wks and found out I was 6 1. Sounds like you have a wonderfully attentive doctor, which means you hopefully will have some answers soon. I've experienced 3 mc in the past and it certainly isn't easy, however with time I found the pain did ease. Baby's heart rate was only 72 but my doc reassured me that the heart has only just developed so it may not be anything to worry about yet.. Usually you wouldn't hear a heartbeat at 5 weeks so you were lucky to hear it, it probably had only started beating the day before which is why it was so low I had my dating scan last Saturday when I thought I was 9 wks and found out I was 6 1.Ultrasound scans use sound waves to build a picture of the baby in the womb. The scans are completely painless, have no known side effects on mothers or babies, and can be carried out at any stage of pregnancy. If you are absolutely sure of your dates it does sound worrisome. With my first pregnancy we were actively ttc and so I was 100% sure of my dates.your situation sounds so much like my third pregnancy though. I went for a dating scan at approximately 7 weeks but baby measured approximately 6 weeks with a heart rate of approximately 90bpm. We went back in 2 weeks time (so I should have been 9 weeks pregnant) and the baby was still measuring small but now with no heart beat.I thought I was sure of my dates and thought I was almost 8 weeks, had a bleed and went for a scan and was only 5w 4d and no heartbeat detectable. I'd had a missed miscarriage and my body was still giving me all the signs and symptoms that it was a normal pregnancy.
The early stages in life are the most critical time.It will usually take place at your local hospital ultrasound department. The person performing the scan is called a sonographer.Went back two weeks later and bubs was measuring 7w4d (9w6d off lmp) with a heartbeat of 133 :) I'm now 11w3d :) Hi All, just wanted to give you an update. Little lentil measuring 7w5d and heart rate was 160bpm.Ultrasound technician said the Dr was a bit overboard to be worried as the heart had on just started beating at first scan.At that point you should know, as 7 weeks is a big week for an embryo. Scans at 6 weeks and 7 weeks 4 days showed a normal sized baby with a strong, normal heartrate, yet it died the day after the last normal scan. *hugs* It does depend how certain you are on when you ovulated. Although I am obviously hoping for a positive outcome it is great to know that there are kind supportive people such as yourself out there if it doesn't turn out as I hoped xx Your doctor sounds like an idiot that is worrying you for no reason.Went for my dating scan, going by lmp I was meant to be 7w6d and only measured 5w2d with nothing but a sack. All pregnant women are offered an ultrasound scan at around 8-14 weeks of pregnancy.
